Look What We Are Learning This Week!

Week of October 22

We will learn all about the letter Ff.  We will practice writing and identifying the letter, as well as the sound it makes and things that start with the letter.

ELA:  We will continue our Families and Communities unit.  This week, we will talk about who belongs to our families and different types of homes.

Math:  We will continue learning our numbers!  This week, we will focus on the number 3.  We will also continue working on patterns.

Religion:  We will learn how we all belong to God's family.  We will also learn about the fruits of the spirit and listen to the bible story of the fishermen.

Science: We will continue to talk about the Fall season and weather.  We will continue to learn all about pumpkins.

We will have a special visit from Bay Shore Fire Department this week!

Every day we will continue to practice our names and tracing/writing letters and numbers.  We will also practice our coloring, cutting and pasting skills.  Continue to reinforce these skills at home!

As part of our STEM curriculum, we encourage the children to create various structures using hands on materials during centers and playtime.  Examples include: building a new house for the 3 little pigs that the wolf cannot blow down,  building a tall tower that is stable and won't fall down, etc.
