Dear SPS Families ~ There's an old saying that most of you would be familiar with: "Good things come to those who wait." Well, I'm happy to tell you that our waiting is over and a VERY good thing has come our way... St. Patrick's School has a new principal! I am thrilled to introduce our next principal to you ~ Ms. Christine Glynn! Ms. Glynn is a native of East Islip where she attended St Mary's Parish School. Thereupon she went on to St John the Baptist HS (Go Cougars!) and upon graduation, she pursued a B.A. at Catholic University of America. Immediately following her graduation from Catholic University she continue her studies and graduated from St John's University with a Masters in Historical Theology. Suffice it to say, her education and formation in the Catholic tradition is pretty impressive and it will serve St Patrick's School well in the future. I believe the following quote from her Letter of Introduction illustrates this point: "I believe I would be ideal for this position at St. Patrick’s because I am familiar with the standards of Catholic education and passionate about my vocation as a school administrator. I am driven by my opinion that faith is a vital part of a child’s education and formation." Ms. Glynn will take up her new responsibilities among us within the next few weeks and we're looking forward with excitement to her dynamic, creative, faith-filled, leadership. It's a new day for St Patrick's School and the beginning of our next One Hundred Years of educating, nurturing, and forming the next generation of God's cherished sons and daughters. I'm very certain you'll be hearing from our new principal in due course and she will have the opportunity to articulate her vision for SPS. I think you will soon discover why she emerged as the "right choice" for St Patrick's School. I would be remiss if I didn't take the opportunity in this message to express my gratitude to both Mr. Emmett Christie and Mrs. Liz Welling for their invaluable contribution to the search process. Like yourselves, and our faculty and staff, they are passionate and dedicated to SPS and want only the best for our students. Their counsel and wisdom helped me to determine who would be the best choice for a new principal. Please also join me in thanking our Fantastic Faculty and Staff for their commitment, passion, love, and faith. They are the backbone of SPS and I believe you know what a blessing they are to your children. Thank you all for your patience, support, encouragement, and prayers. I'm sincerely grateful to you for your support and love for St Patrick's School. Working together as Administration, Faculty/Staff, Families, and Clergy, we can grow and strengthen our school for the next One Hundred Years. I hope and pray that each of your families will enjoy a relaxing and well-earned Summer break and I'm really looking forward to welcoming you home to SPS in September! Warm regards and God's blessing on your families, Father Sean
