Welcome to Grade 5 Music!

Overview:
Music Theory: We will continue to learn about the seven elements of music as well as music theory: Intervals, Scales (major, natural minor, harmonic minor, melodic minor), Chords and arpeggios (major, minor, augmented dminished).

Ear Training/Sight Singing: Dictation (Rhythmic, intervalic, melodic and harmonic) as well as sight singing short and simple diatonic melodies (steps and skips).

Music History: Baroque Period (1600-1750). We will explore the music of Bach, Corelli, Handel, Monteverdi, Pachelbel, Pergolessi, Purcell, Schutz, Telemann and Vivladi.

Music Technology: Noteflight (Notation Software) and Garage Band (Music Production Software).
