I am happy to be a part of the St. Patrick School family! I come from a long and varied career of teaching within the Diocese of Rockville Centre.

In the General Music classroom, as appropriate, we will sing, move, dance, engage in group work, and play instruments.
Pre-K, K & 1st grade will utilize the John Feierabend First Steps in Music Curriculum.
K-2nd grade will become "Musical Explorers" through the Carnegie Hall "Musical Explorers" program and explore music around the world. We will begin with the music of Mexico, then move to Sicily and then on to the calypso
3rd & 4th grade will begin to play, and continue to play, the recorder along with handbells and Boomwhackers.
5th grade will study basic music theory such as the reading of notes along with the opera "Amahl and the Night Visitors."
6th grade will study jazz and hip hop as well as create small group projects
7th and 8th grade will study music history beginning from the time of the Middle Ages as well as engaging in small group projects. ​(8th grade begins music classes in mid-January.)
All grades will work on learning to sing the songs sung at mass so as to increase their participation in the mass.

Google Classroom:

Google Classroom will be utilized in all music classes. In the older grades, this is where I will post material we are studying along with any classwork, homework or tests the students will be assigned. In the younger grades, it's a place for me to keep track of our weekly work and for you to see what we have been up to!
